Dentures in Sugar Land, TX

Dentures are prosthetic teeth made from dental-grade ceramic and gum-colored acrylic. They are removable oral appliances that can replace both the missing teeth and the gums, thereby bringing back the aesthetics and functionality of the oral cavity.  At Sugar Land Dental, we offer high-quality dentures to our patients, making them regain their confidence and smile.

What Are Dentures?

Dentures are prosthetic teeth that can be used to replace multiple missing teeth or all of them. The choice between partial or complete dentures depends on the condition of the patient's mouth.  Partial dentures are recommended for individuals with a few missing teeth who want to retain their natural ones. Complete dentures are recommended for patients who have all their teeth missing which need to be replaced with artificial ones.

Why Should You Choose Dentures?

The choice between partial and complete dentures depends on your condition. If you have several missing teeth but still want to keep your natural teeth intact, partial dentures are a good option. On the other hand, complete dentures are great if all your teeth are missing.

Partial dentures can be easily removed when you eat or brush your teeth as they don't require the placement of dental implants in the jawbone. On the other hand, complete dentures could be secured by dental implants, which stay in place permanently and support the prosthetic set of teeth.

What Is The Process For Getting Dentures?

The process of getting dentures requires multiple visits to our dental office. During the first visit, we will examine the mouth and determine the suitability of getting a denture. We will also perform X-rays to check for signs of infections or underlying issues that may affect your eligibility for dentures.

Once we are sure that you are able to wear a set of dentures, we will take an impression of your mouth using dental putty or wax and send it to our dental lab to fabricate your denture. This process may take some time, depending on the denture you need - partial or complete. Once it is ready, we will place it in your mouth and check for proper fit and comfort before giving it to you.  If necessary, we may make some changes to achieve a better fit before giving it to you.

How Should You Care For Your Dentures?

Dentures require proper care to ensure their durability and longevity. You need to remove your dentures before going to bed and clean them every day by brushing them gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush and warm water after you take them out. Please do not use any harsh abrasives on them, as they can ruin their appearance and structure over time.
